Every now and then you will hear about someone's death, and even though you don't know them, you will have an immediate feeling of shock and sadness. That is what happened when I found out that Sydney Pollack died on Monday. Pollack was on my list of people who I had hoped to one day get to have a conversation with, and he will be greatly missed.
