Things I Liked This Week

The Yankees: I went to my first Yankees game this weekend, and it was a great baseball experience.  The Dodgers are still my team these days, but I will gladly play the part of a Yankees fan whenever I get the chance.

iTunes Rentals:  This weekend I did some travelling (see above) to visit family, and I decided to further embrace the digital age, by
experimenting in an iTunes movie rental on my MacBook Air.  I rented Tootsie for the flight home, and both the movie and the renting experience were great.  I'm all about the all digital, no disc world that we are entering.  (I'm also really against it.  It's a long complicated story.)

TYFTWD:  One of my favorite musicians, and for that matter,
entertainment entities, took to the internet this weekend to expand the creation experience.  John Mayer had a Take Your Fans To Work Day (TYFTWD) on his blog, in which he posted videos and photos, and writings throughout a day in the studio, as he works on his new album/tour.  Check it out at www.johnmayer.com/blog

Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends:  Coldplay released, Violet Hill, the first song off
of their new album as a free download on www.coldplay.com .  The band, the song, and the free download promotion concept are all great.  As is the album artwork.

Iron Man: The cast is phenomenal, and one of my heroes, the original Swinger himself, Jon Favreau
directs his way into a great comic book franchise.  He's like this big bear, with these big fucking claws, and it's so money.  And, by the way, Gwyneth looks as good as ever.

Obama:  This isn't specific to this week, but it's just important.  I think Obama is the best candidate we've had in a long time.  And hopefully this will be a big week for him.  Not to mention, this is a cool poster.
